Vegetarian & vegan / Redwood City & the Peninsula

Text us what you feel like eating. We cook it.

Poshana is a vegetarian kitchen you talk to like a person. Say you want lighter food, more protein, or no onion this week — a chef and a nutritionist plan the days with you, and we cook it fresh overnight.

Why we started

Eating plants well is a planning job, and nobody has time for it.

Option one

Sunday disappears

Four hours of chopping, soaking and cleaning so the weeknights work. It's the option that tastes right and costs the most — in the one day you had.

Option two

A menu, not a conversation

Every subscription hands you a fixed list and a checkbox. No way to say "less oil," "more protein this week," or "my daughter won't eat anything green."

Option three

Delivery, again

The vegetarian options are an afterthought — a side salad and a bowl of carbs, priced like a treat and cooked like one. Never the thing you'd have made at home.

So we built the thing you actually want: a kitchen you can text. Tell it how you want to eat, in your own words, and it plans and cooks the days for you.

Who answers

One thread. Three people's jobs.

You send one message. Behind it, three roles work on your week — and you never have to think about which one is replying.

The chef

Turns a mood into dishes

"Something lighter" becomes an actual set of dishes that work together, share the same fresh produce, and taste like someone cooked them on purpose.

"I'll drop the fried things and lean on legumes and greens this week."
The nutritionist

Makes the numbers work

Protein, fibre and iron get checked across the whole plan, not dish by dish. Those are exactly where vegetarian eating quietly falls short, so they're watched every week.

"That lands at 34g protein a serving. Hemp on the salad brings the iron up too."
The kitchen

Cooks your batch, not a pot

Your plan goes on the fire the night before your delivery morning — your quantities, your spice, your substitutions. Nothing pooled, nothing frozen.

"Cooking Wednesday night. At your door 6:40 am Thursday."
How it works

Plan two days out, or the whole week.

Most people text once a week and forget about it. Some change their mind on Wednesday. Both are fine.

STEP 01

Say what you want

In plain words. "Lighter this week." "More protein, I'm training." "No dairy, and nothing with fennel." It's a text message, not a form.

STEP 02

Get a plan back

Dishes for the days you asked for, with protein and fibre worked out across the plan. Push back on any of it and you get a new one.

STEP 03

Pick your morning

Any day of the week. One delivery holds the days you planned. Change the day up to 48 hours ahead.

STEP 04

We cook it overnight

Cooked fresh the night before in our Redwood City kitchen, chilled, and driven to you by our own driver before the day starts.

A batch of one

The part nobody else does.

Most kitchens cook one big pot and portion it out. We cook your household's pot. It's slower, and it's the entire point.

Your thread is the recipe card. Everything you've ever told us — less oil, no garlic for one of you, the kid who only eats orange food — stays on. You don't repeat yourself, and you don't fill in a preferences form twice a year.

We cook mostly Indian, and not only Indian. It's the food we know how to cook properly, and it's the deepest vegetarian tradition there is. But a week can just as easily hold miso tofu, a chickpea salad, or a bowl of grains and greens.

Everything is vegetarian, always. No meat, no fish, ever. Fully vegan on request across the whole plan. Made fresh in a licensed commercial kitchen in Redwood City, chilled, and delivered within hours — never frozen, never a reheating tray.
